Audiovisual and Sound works

electroacoustic, music, nature and urban sound, sound work combined with visual elements

Between January 17 and 21, 2022, I participated in the Acoustic Interiors project under the guidance of sound artist Anne Wellmer in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The subject and medium of this project is actually an area that I have paid little attention to and that I have never worked on as a separate discipline before. For me, sound was always connected to my video work until 2022 and I had not treated it as a separate medium. This was partly due to my irreparable hearing damage. Participating in this project led me to the decision to continue working with the medium of sound and experimenting with it and finding out if this medium is suitable for expressing my artistic visions. The sound works I compose generally belong to the field of electroacoustics or works that arise during urban and rural field excursions. Part of the work I create in these areas are audiovisual creations where audio and images are combined and form a unity

Audiovisual Work

steadily flowing...steadily moving

The work reflects contrasting thoughts. On the one hand about the more general points of view and on the other hand from a very personal point of view related to me Water symbolizes life, the purest form of nourishment, and is the element that holds everything together in nature. Water stands for purity, clarity and meditation. Water can be uncontrollable, menacing, devas- tating, and deadly. But to me, deep down, water symbolizes two metaphors. Water can reflect an unreachable horizon in the dis- tance. For the menace and loneliness of a troubled mind that can no longer find peace

A useless reality. What is it for? What makes sense? Why must there be meaning? Will there be meaning at all in the end? Information, memories, messages, photos became useless, unrecognizable data. Cell phones, data storage devices in a state of uselessness, decay and devaluation, with all the unencrypted memories stuffed into partially broken jars. Brightened and underlined in their so-called uselessness by cool blue light. Yet if someone wants to see and understand it as reality.

In a world where simulations that are often hollow, superficial and falsified replace reality, the line between useful and useless becomes blurred.
